The short explanation of this alert was:

In the next few days, state legislators will decide whether to take a big step toward ending homelessness in our state.

You can ensure they make the right decision.

The Housing Trust Fund supports the development of affordable housing and housing for the homeless. However, there is a substantial project backlog because of growing housing demand and a shortfall of funds. Increasing the Housing Trust Fund is a key element of Washington's Ten-Year Plan to End Homelessness.

State legislators are considering a proposal to increase the Housing Trust Fund by up to $100 million this year. Such an investment would create housing for thousands of Washingtonians – seniors on fixed incomes, homeless people, families with young children struggling to get by.

Join Emily and her co-workers - email your legislators today – tell them to increase the Housing Trust Fund by $100 million in 2008. Simply add a subject line to the message below, and click “Send this message.” You may customize your letter content if you like.
