The State House just released their budget proposal. Although the Governor had included funding for nursing homes, the House budget cut that funding. We need your help to restore the money dedicated to nursing homes that was in the original budget.

Send a message to your legislators in Olympia! Tell them to restore the funding for nursing homes that was in the Governor's original budget.

Send an email to your legislators, then call the Legislative Hotline at 1-800-562-6000 and leave this simple message for your Representatives: "The Governor had it right. Restore the money in the Governor's budget for nursing homes."

Talking Points

Nursing homes care for thousands our state's elderly and disabled. Yet these facilities are chronically underfunded, threatening quality care for residents and sustainable livelihoods for employees. Despite demanding, round-the-clock work, most nursing home employees do not make a living wage - many earn near minimum wage.

We've asked lawmakers to appropriate $15 million for health care benefits and wage increases for the lowest-wage nursing home workers. Now they need to listen.
