We're sorry, this alert is no longer available. If you would like to learn more about ways you can take action, please visit State Employees' Association of NH, SEIU Local 1984 Action Center.

The short explanation of this alert was:

Too many self-appointed "experts" are offering up suggestions on how to bridge the budget deficit.  But they don't have the same insight we do, they aren't in the worksite with us.

SEA members have that in-depth knowledge.  Members know which contracted-out services the state needs -- and which contracts should be ended.  Members know which projects are really necessary -- and which could be postponed until better times.  SEA members know about middle-managers who have been added recently -- despite the hiring freeze.  Members know about untapped revenue sources.  Members know which programs can be cut -- and when cuts would have too great an impact on New Hampshire residents.

Together, SEA members know more about NH state government than anybody else.  And we need to make sure that this year's budget "solutions" are real solutions.

At the same time, we know that state employees are concerned about possible retribution.  So SEA staff have set up this mechanism to forward ideas anonymously. If you have any ideas about how state government can save money or do things better, please write them in the "letter" box, below.  Then, "send this message" to our "Suggestion Box".

SEA staff will compile the ideas, and pass the information along anonymously to the appropriate people.
